1950 Spring Trial

The Spring Trial, organised by the Light Car Club, was held on August 13th.

This was intended as a fairly straightforward event. The inexperienced directors, Bert Chalmers and Geoff Floyd, were overwhelmed when 80 entries were received. Wet weather made the event more challenging than expected.

Peter Damman, navigated by J. Place, was the winner in a Citroen. Geoff Lord in an Austin scored the same points but presumably the tie was resolved by reference to times on a sub-event.

A report appeared in Australian Motor Sports.
