1951 "The Age" Women Driver's Trial

The Women Drivers’ Trial, sponsored by “The Age” and organised by the Light Car Club, was held on February 25th.

This was the second such trial and was directed by Lex Denniston and Roy Linden. Unlike the previous year, the navigators also had to be women, and the navigation was quite difficult.

There were 44 starters.

As well as trial sections, there were a number of sub-events along the way, including a standing quarter mile  and a motorkhana.

Equal winners were Mrs. D. Hodgson (Fiat 500) and Mrs. Joan Leech (Austin A40).
