The 1953 REDeX Trial was organised by the Australian Sporting Car Club.
Start: Sydney Showgrounds, Sunday August 30th
Finish: Sydney Showgrounds, September 13th.
This was the first REDeX around Australia Trial, although there was a two day REDeX Trial in 1952. This edition was a half around Australia as it did not go to Western Australia.
This first round Australia trial attracted a big field of 186 cars of which 142 finished.
The winners were Ken Tubman and John Marshall in a Peugeot 203. Tubman went on to other successes, including winning the 1974 World Cup Rally with Jim Reddiex.
