1958 Ampol Trial

Start: Sydney, Sunday, May 18

Finish: Melbourne, Sunday, June 1

This was the third Ampol Trial and the first that was auspiced by CAMS, with the Australian Sporting Car Club as organisers. Evan Green chaired the organising committee with Dave Bartlett as Clerk of Course. The event was not a true round Australia trial as it did not visit WA or NT (nor Tasmania), and in fact only went as far north as Bundaberg in Queensland.

Victorians were well represented in the field of 159 cars and placed 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th and 10th in the outright results.
