The 1963 Light Car Club Alpine Trial was held on November 23.

VTC Round 7? – Ford Anglia wins fast Alpine Trial

The traditional end of year Alpine was directed by Bruce Ford. It was won by Don Opie and Doug Rutherford in a Ford Anglia, beating the more fancied Harry Firth in a Cortina. A full report was provided in Australian Motor Sport.

Route

The event followed a traditional Alpine format with a long run through Gippsland to Omeo followed by a run up the Omeo Highway and back over Trappers Gap to Bright. The second half headed through Yackandandah, Myrtleford and Whitfield to Benalla then south to the effective finish at Yea before heading to the actual finish at Lakeland Hillclimb near Lilydale.
