1965 Blue Ribbon Trial

The Blue Ribbon Trial,  organised by the Victorian Sporting Car Club, was held on September 19.

The Blue Ribbon was a non championship open event and attracted some experienced crews including from the Ford and Holden teams.

The event was well run and included a bit of everything – demanding navigation, mud, water crossings, dust, slippery hills and overgrown tracks!

The works cars of Watson/McAuliffe (Holden) and Lunn/Thomas (Ford) placed first and second. Apparently the Cortina crew had Chris DeFraga along for some training!
