The North Eastern Trial, organised by the North Eastern Car Club, was held on October 23.
VTC Round 5 – 1965 NECC North Eastern Trial
We have few details of this event, which was won by Bob Watson and Jim McAuliffe in a Holden X2. Some tricky navigation was involved and the Holden Trials Team cars of Watson and McPherson almost collided head-on. Watson and McAuliffe went on to win the event with the Ford team languishing down in fourth, fifth and sixth.
