1965 Presidents Trial

The Presidents Trial,  organised by the Car Club f RMIT, was held on July 17.

This was perhaps the first Presidents Trial to be run as an open event and it attracted a field of 24 cars including a number of works or semi-works teams.

The event ran in the Wombat and Mount Disappointment Forests in very cold conditions presenting crews with snow covered roads and patches of black ice, as well as many wet and muddy tracks.

Ken Harper achieved a narrow victory in the Falcon from Bob Watson’s Holden.
