1966 Akademos Trial

The Akademos, organised by the Melbourne University Car Club, was probably held in June.

VTC Round 2 – 1966 MUCC Akademos Trial

Directed by Geoff Sproat, this year’s Akademos attracted a small field of only 20 cars. According to this Racing Car News report by Bob Watson, this may have been due to the perceived difficulty of the event which discouraged many private entrants. Several factory crews had difficulties with the Watson/McAuliffe Holden colliding with a private Mini and the Falcon of Kilfoyle/Abraham suffering gearbox failure.

Some detailed reports also appeared in July Unicar.
