1972 Hunter Safari

The Hunter Safari, organised by the Chrysler Owners Club of Victoria, was held on 9 September. Directed by Tony Allen, the Safari ran around a central control at the CRB camp near Currajung South.

The event included both navigational sections and driver’s sections. Navigation was often quite tricky with a number of tricky realignments.

The event was run for two grades – Grade 2 (Restricted) and Grade 3 (Novice) with the latter following a somewhat simpler course.

The winners were J. Fixter and Peter Burley in a Renault R8 (incorrectly stated to be other models in newspaper articles).
