The second tier state series for Grade 3 crews was won by Jim Uttleymoore and Tony Bond in their Lancer. Bond won the championship despite not running in the 4th round of which he was the director.

There may not have been much in the way of regulations for the series as it piggybacked onto the VRC. Points were scored for the first six places, as per the VRC, 9-6-4-3-2-1.
