The Shell Melton 200, round 1 of the Victorian Clubman Series, was organised by the Melton Motor Sport Club and held on February 2. The Director was John Dennison and Assistant Director Noel Cutler.
While the event had previously been a round of the Western Regions Trials Series, this was the first time it ran as a round of the Victorian Clubman Series. Prizemoney and awards totaled $1,200 in value.
The event comprised 40km of daylight special stage competition and 210km of night stages in the forests between Daylesford and Ballan, with approximately 50% of the night stages being “navigational”.
