The Autumn Midnight, organised by the Car Club of RMIT, was held on 26 September.
It was Round 6 of the TAUCC Series. The winners were Brian Smith and Pete Mignot in a Galant, with Barry Farnell / Phil Gallagher second and David Mitchell / Greg Matheson third in a Datsun 1600. The high points scores and the high number of non-finishers suggests the event was quite challenging – only 17 of 47 starters finished.
The contest for club points was close, with CCRMIT winning on 19 points, half a point ahead of both the Swinburne Car Club and Monash Sporting Car Club on 18.5.
