The Shamateur II, directed by Dean Jeeves and organised by the Light Car Club, was held on 25 June. Officials and competitors had to cope with snow in this event.
The Shamateur events were for novice crews (= ungraded). Graded crews were permitted to run but weren’t eligible for outright placings.
First outright were Glen Cugley & A Pittard with Chris Ryan/Des Ryan second and S McAuley/P Etienne third, all in Datsuns. First graded crew was D Chestnut/K Baxter in a Ford.
