The Shamateur I, organised by the Light Car Club of Australia, was held on 22 February.
The Shamateurs (more than one were typically held in a year) were club events but included competitors from other invited clubs. The winners of this edition were Randall Cruickshank and Russel Day with Tom Porritt/Brendan Ferrari second and Guy & Tony Pandolfo third.
