The Akademos was conducted by the Melbourne University Car Club and was held on November 16. The event was pace noted with recce on the Saturday. The Director was Peter Otzen. The event incorporated the Bog-A-Duck Sprint Rally.

The 2008 Akademos was won by Brendan Reeves and Rhianon Smyth in a Subaru Impreza RS. Only 20 seconds separated the top three with Nathan Reeves/Scott Spedding second and champions Mark Fawcett and Simon Ellis third, all in Subarus.
