Victorian Rally Championship Round 1
Victorian Club Rally Series Round 1
East Coast Classic Rally Series Round 1
The event was won by Jamie Luff and Brad Luff in a Subaru Impreza WRX, While the day dawned fine and sunny, rain soon began to fall throughout the day making conditions extremely challenging. They finished Heat 1 more than 2 minutes ahead of the Escort of Luke Sytema and Tracey Dewhurst, with the non-VRC eligible Nathan Quinn (with Alex Eadie in the RX2) a further minute back. Among the non-finishers of Heat 1 were Brendan Reeves with a broken drive shaft on the Datto and several off road excursions including Tony Moore in the Focus, Ross Stapleton in the Nissan and Geoff Holloway in the Excel. Heat 2 saw a reverse of fortunes for Sytema who won the heat by a mere 2 seconds from the Luffs with Peter and Chris Schey third, 2 minutes back in the Escort. Sytema took both Heat wins in the 2WD category.
Jason Lennane and Matthew Dillon were best Clubman on Heat 1 but left the road on Heat 2, with Andrew McNay and Sebastian Vella best Clubman in the Commodore. Tom West and Stephen Dunbar (Excel) were best Novice on both heats.
The VCRS round won by more than 2 minutes by Steven Porter and Tony Robinson in the RX7
