2022 Victoria Cross Rally

The Victoria Cross, organised by the Historic Rally Association, was held on 5th November. It was the final round for 2022 of the Victorian Club Rally Series, the HRA Rally Championship and the HRA Standard Car Class Series. The event base was at the State Motorcycle Complex near Broadford, with all competitive stages in the nearby Mt Disappointment State Forest.

The event comprised two components, a special stage rally that included the VCRS and HRA championships and a rally regularity for the SCC series.

The winners of the special stage rally were Daryl King and Darcy McClure-Wallace in a Toyota Corolla. Graham Wallis and Richard Davies were the winners of the regularity in a Peugeot 505. Of the two crews vying for the individual VCRS championship, Steve Porter and Tony Robinson took the honours ahead Brian Semmens and Dan Parry.

Significant rainfall in the weeks leading up to the event lead to the course being reduced from 120km competitive to 52km competitive. Despite that, competitors reported they enjoyed the event and it was run in fine dry conditions, remarkably even with a little dust.
