1954 REDeX Around Australia Trial

The 1954 REDeX Trial, the second of three, was organised by the Australian Sorting Car Club.

Start: Sydney Showgrounds, July 3rd

Finish: Sydney Showgrounds, July 20th

Unlike the first REDeX Trial, the 1954 REDeX circumnavigated Australia in an anti-clockwise direction with a total distance of almost 10,000 miles. The event attracted a massive field of 246 starters with 120 reaching the finish.

Gelignite Jack Murray with navigator Bill Murray (no relation) in a 1948 Ford V8 were the only crew to drop no points.
