The Caltex Begonia Rally, organised by the Ballarat Light Car Club, was held on March 2.

1963 VTC Round 1 – Caltex Begonia Rally dominated by Ford

The opening round of the 1963 state championship, the Caltex Begonia Rally, was dominated by Ford, with Geoff Russell victorious in a Cortina, followed by Harry Firth (Cortina), Frank Kilfoyle (Falcon) and Don Opie (Anglia). The event was reported in Australian Motor Sports.
