1963 Caltex Horsham Rally

The Horsham Rally, jointly organised by the Light Car Club (Wimmera) and the Western District Car Club, was held on August 31.

Local Boys Win Tough Horsham Rally

The Horsham Rally was held over a 500 mile route starting and finishing in Horsham. According to a report in Australian Motor Sports, the event was won by Jim Hayward in a VW.

Route

The event looped to the east and south of Horsham, taking in areas around Dadswells Bridge, Kanya, Barkley and Navarre to a break in Ararat. The route headed westwards and into the Grampians enroute to breakfast in Hamilton. The Sunday daylight run back to Horsham took in Wannon, Kootongwootong, Harrow and Edenhope.
