1965 VTC Round 1 – BLCC Caltex Begonia Rally to Lunn and Rutherford
Reports in both Racing Car News and Australian Motor Sports indicate that the first round of the 1965 Victorian Trials Championship was a long and tricky event that ran from Ballarat out to the Grampians and back. The event was directed by Mal McPherson and Ian Home, and used quite a few map errors to elicit mistakes from unwary navigators. Fancied drivers also encountered problems with Kilfoyle’s Falcon ending up in a creek and Firth’s similar car rolled.
