1965 Two Day Trial

The Two Day Trial, organised jointly by the Victorian Amateur Drivers Club and the Volkswagen Car Club of Victoria, was held on September 4.

VTC Round 4 – 1965 Two Day Trial

Directed by Roger Abrahams. the Two Day Trial was held in very wet conditions. On the second stage north of Bendigo many roads were completely covered with sheets of water. The conditions were so bad that the director cancelled some sections and sent the field back to Bendigo for breakfast where the main topic of conversation was “mud”. The final stage headed back through Eppalock to the finish as Woodend.

Fourteen cars finished out of 23 starters, with Reg Lunn and Geoff Thomas making it two wins in a row in the championship.
