VTC Round 5 – VADC/VWCV Two Day Trial to Holden
The 500 mile Two Day Trial ran through the NE hill country. With Harry Firth overseas and Kilfoyle as director, there was no factory Ford participation. Holdens dominated the event with Watson/McAuliffe leading until an upper control arm mounting bolt failed. The remaining two Holden Rally Team X2s finished first and second. The win went to Reg Lunn and Geoff Thomas, keeping alive their championship hopes against team-mates Tony Roberts and Peter Haas who finished second.
