The HAC Invitation Rally, organised by the Huntingdale Auto Club, was held on February 19.
Directed by David Long and Colin Turnbull, the event ran in the Strzelecki Ranges of South Gippsland. Wet weather before the event caused the deletion of a section near Leongatha and another section near Ross Hill to be rerouted.
Gil Davis and Peter Haas were using the event as a try out for the year in their new Mollison Motors sponsored Torana XU-1 and ran out easy winners.
