Australian Rally Championship Round 1

This was the first ever Western Australian round of the ARC. It was conducted over 1600 km and over two nights with a stopover in Bunbury.

With Colin Bond otherwise engaged, George Shepheard accompanied reigning champion Peter Lang to victory. They held a comfortable lead until putting the car off the road on the second night and eventually only won by a single point from Stewart McLeod and Adrian Mortimer.
