A star is born
The 1975 Don Capasco Rally saw the emergence of Greg Carr, winning the event for the first of six consecutive years. Some saw Carr as a Canberra specialist who knew the roads around his home time so well. But they would be proven wrong when he went on the win several Alpine Rallies and three national titles. There were high hopes that Timo Makinen would front the event in an Escort R21800 but he was unable to make it. The car went to the previous winner, Bob Watson, but it struggled in the numerous creek crossings.
