VRC Round 7 – 1975 COCV Hunter Safari

The Chadstone Chrysler Safari was the final round of the 1975 VRC and was held in the forests north of Warragul. The Chrysler Owners Club hosted the 350km event and it was directed by Mike Prendergast who was assisted by Robert Knight.

Bond / Richards, having tied up the Championship in the previous rally, were the early leaders until Davis / Haas put up a number of quick times and hit the lead, which they held comfortably to the finish. Bond put the Lancer off the road briefly on Section 15 losing about 8 minutes and dropping to sixth.

In second place were “ The Phils “, Bernadou and Rainer in their Datsun 1600. Second to seventh places were extremely close, being covered by just three points.
