1979 John Blair Memorial Rally

The John Blair Memorial Rally was held on January 27, the first event of the 1979 season.

1979 HMAS Cerberus Car Club John Blair Memorial Rally

Directed by Neil Turner, the 1979 John Blair Memorial Rally attracted a quality field including the reigning VRC champions, Warwick Smith  and Paul Paterson in their Lancer, and 1976 VRC champion Bob Waterhouse. But it was fast up and coming driver Hugh Bell, who took a convincing win. The fast paced event saw quite a few “offs” including Mick Ellis, Laurie Wilson, Warwick Freemantle, Jeff Marsh and Roger McKinnon.
