The Experts Trial, organised by the LCCA, was held on 26 July.
For the second year in succession, the Experts was run as a non-championship “open” event but attracted a strong field of more than forty starters. Director, Stuart Lister, again set a navigationally demanding and sometimes tricky event. In fact a very tricky via on the second section in the Argyle Forest had the first three cars with wrong directions, including three times winner Ross Runnalls. No-one went through the event without a WD or a missed passage, but Paul Paterson, navigating for Bob Waterhouse, made the least mistakes and they ran out clear winners.
