The Autosport Stages, organised by the Cerberus Car Club, was held on 25 April.
VRC Round 4 – Autosport Stages – Portman/Runnalls again!
Directed by John White, the 1981 Autosport Stages comprised nineteen daylight stages in the Powelltown / Noojee area.
Once again it was Portman and Runnalls in the 200B who dominated, winning by a margin of just over a minute. But they didn’t have it all their own way, as interstaters Mike Bell and Graham Roser lead by 32 seconds at the halfway mark. Alex and Jan Fitcher put in a fine performance to finish third, only 15 seconds behind Bell/Roser.
