The Yulunga Trial, organised by the Hamilton & District Car Club, was held on 3 April.
It was Round 1 of the Western Regions Rally Championship. The winners were Hurrey/Newby on 22 points with Trounce/Sharrock 2nd on 25 and Kruger/Davis third on 26. First grade B were Love/Nathan on 31 points and also 5th outright.
