The Alpine, sponsored by Enka-Fill and organised by the Light Car Club of Australia, was held on 19/20 November.
In one of the closest Alpine results, Ian Hill and Phil Bonser were victorious in a Ford Escort by a mere 9 seconds from Hugh Bell and Paul Paterson in a Dazda. However, Ross Dunkerton was able to secure the Australian Championship by finishing 11th outright and first Group A in a Commodore.
