1985 VRC Round 6 – MMSC Melton Toyota Djerriwarrh Rally
The Djerriwarrh, directed by Noel Cutler, ran in its traditional Wombat Forest area. It saw the return of Geoff Portman to the VRC in his Nissan Bluebird, with Peter Gale (Twigger) calling the corners. In one of the few successes in the Bluebird, Portman was victorious by less than a minute from Brian Smith and John Birrell. Their second place lifted them into the championship lead by a single point ahead of Jones and Curtain who failed to finish.
