1987 Blue Ribbon Rally

The Blue Ribbon Rally, sponsored by Maryborough Nissan and organised by the Light Car Club of Australia, was held on March 28. This was the fourth and final Blue Ribbon in succession directed by John Fagan and the second to be run out of Maryborough.

Victorian Rally Championship Round 1

Conducted over 16 generally short special stages in the forests around Maryborough, the event was convincingly won by reigning champions, Geoff Portman and Peter Gale. The margin to second was impressive, more than 3 minutes, with just 12 seconds separating second placed Grant Water/Denis Obrien and third placed Peter R. Thompson/David James, who picked up maximum PRC points.
