The Shamateur 2 Rally, organised by the Light Car Club of Australia and directed by Greg Brown, was held on September 12, after apparently being postponed a week.
Awards were only open to Novice crews but there were many graded crews entered.
Scott Prior and John Rawson in a Datsun 1200 were declared winners and in fact finished fifth behind four graded crews. The first graded crew was Craig and Karen McKenzie in a Mazda RX-3.
