The George Woods Novice Trial, organised by the Peugeot Car Club and directed by Glad Fish, was held on May 14.
As a novice trial, the 1988 George Woods Trial was intended as a gentle introduction to rallying and included a variety of simple navigational sections. Conducted in the Powelltown area, the event was convincingly won by Alistair Grimshaw and David Gunston in a Datsun 120Y.
