The Blue Ribbon Rally, organised by the Light Car Club of Australia and directed by Phil Wylie, was held on October 27.
Victorian Rally Championship Round 4
It was two wins in a row for John Reynolds and David Boyce in the Mazda 323 4WD to set up a final round showdown with David Greig and Paul Tirant who finished second in their Datsun 280Z. Perhaps strategically, Greig entered in the Clubman car category and so picked up maximum points to maintain their championship lead. Steve Ashton and Ro Nixon placed third in their Galant VR4 ahead of Allan Johnson and Jim Maude in the Commodore, still mathematically in the championship hunt.
