1990 BP Rally Queensland

Rally Queensland was held on August 4-5.

Australian Rally Championship Round 5

Ed Ordynski and Mark Nelson secured the 1990 national title with their win on Rally Queensland. They finished almost a minute ahead of George Kahler and Lofty Drews, both in Galant VR4s. This was not enough to keep Kahler in the championship race, and Nelson had secured the title despite having dropped the previous round. Neal Bates and David Jorgensen claimed third in the Celica.

Route

It appears that the event was badly affected by wet weather requiring many stages to be cancelled and the whole event rejigged at the last moment. From the Brisbane start the event went to Nanango as a base and into the night. The finish on Sunday was at the Mt Cootha quarry.
