The Autosport Stages, organised by the Ford Four Car Club, was held on 23 November.
Victorian Rally Championship Round 6
There were three crew who could win the VRC coming into the final round. Gary Kendrick and Ron Gottschalk were on 48 points, Alan Johnson on 47 (but navigator Jim Maude still in the hunt on 32) and Peter Fyfe with Gerry Bashford on 35. With 20 points on offer for a win, the permutations were considerable but Fyfe and Bashford really need the win. After Gary Kendrick left the road in his Commodore and Alan Johnson had drivetrain failure in his Commodore, it was left for Peter Fyfe and Gerry Bashford to bring the Nissan Pulsar home safely, which they did, winning from Neil Cuthbert and David Adams by more than 4 minutes.
In the hunt for the Novice award, Chris Lowe and Jim Pollock brought their Datsun 1600 into tenth outright and first Novice to win the award after points leaders Mark Miller and Greg Plant hit a bank and retired.
