1992 Broughton Auctioneers Forest Rally

The Forest Rally was held on May 2-3, Western Australia’s round of this year’s ARC.

It was two wins from two rounds for Rob Herridge and Mark Nelson in the Subaru Liberty. Other locals did well on the ball bearing roads of WA, with Tolley Challis and Rod van der Straaten second and Gerry McGroarty and Bob McGowan third, both in Galants. Title contender, Neal Bates and Rod Horsley were fourth to open their points account for the year.

Route

The event began with two runs over a tight mostly tarmac stage at the Perth Showgrounds. Crews then headed east for seven stages around Mundaring. Sunday was a long liaison down to Harvey and back, with seven stages in the Stirling and Brunswick Forests, together with a super special at the Harvey Oval.
