1993 Akademos

The Akademos, organised by the Melbourne University Car Club and directed by Darryl Otzen, was held on 29 May.

Round 4 Victorian Rally Championship

The event attracted a disappointing field of only 21 cars. Then it saw a high rate of attrition with at least three of roads excursions and a number of mechanical failures resulting in only nine finishers. Nigel Letty and Stephen Young emerged as winners in their Suburu Liberty.

Detailed Results

Route

The event started with a quick stage in Bairnsdale followed by five daylight stages to the north before returning to a service back in Bairnsdale. There were then four night stages including the monster 60 km run up Baldhead Road, along Morris Peak and back along Tabberabbera Road.
