The Forest Rally was conducted by the Western Australian Car Club on May 7-8.

Australian Rally Championship Round 8 (C10)

Western Australia was proving to be a happy hunting ground for Neal Bates and Coral Taylor as they again won the Forest Rally. It was some consolation following the disappointment of a DNF on Rally of Melbourne. It was a dominant win by more than 7 minutes from series leaders Michael Guest and David Green. All the remaining points scoring positions were filled by local WA crews.
