The 1600 Classic, organised by the Nissan Car Club of Australia, was held on 21 January. This was a “closed” rally for the members of the NCCA and invited clubs.
The winners were Cody Crocker and Joe Brick in a Subaru RSR. David Smart and Belinda Smith were second in a Datsun 1600, over 3 and a half minutes behind Crocker but a mere 6 seconds in front of third placegetters, Mick Cameron and Peter Howgate, also in a Subaru RSR.
