1996 Djerriwarrh Festival Rally

The Djerriwarrah Festival Rally, organised by the Melton Motor Sports Club and directed by Joe Brick, was held on November 9.

Round 4 Victorian Rally Championship

Winners were Graham Alexander and David Stewart in their Lancer, closely followed by Graeme Wise and Rob Beekman in a similar Lancer, so confirming their victory in this year’s VRC. Cody Crocker and Greg Foletta completed the podium in their Subaru.

A ninth place by up and coming Spencer Lowndes was not enough to overtake Paul Mahony for the Novice Award although Lowndes’ co-driver, Pat Mollison, took out the Novice Co-drivers Award.

 

For Wise and Beekman, the result saw them crowned as Victorian Champions for 1996.
