The East Gippsland Safari, sponsored by Nelanc Insurances and organised by the HRA, was held on 10 and 11 May.
The HRA intended it as an adventure event. It started in Maffra, visited the Boisdale Hillclimb then overnighted at Dinner Plain. There was a problem in that the local policeman at Briagalong wasn’t happy and the Moornappa Stages had to be deleted. The second day went via McKillops Bridge, south to Lakes Entrance, then to Bairnsdale and finally back to finish at the Boisdale hillclimb.
We don’t have results for the overall event, only the hillclimb.
