The Tunbridge Trial, organised by the Ballareat Light Car Club and sponsored by Redan Motors, was held on 1 June. This was a closed event for the members of BLCC and invited clubs.
The winners were Trevor Woods and Trevor Boyd in a Datsun 1600, about three and a half minutes ahead of Mark Fawcett and Tony Boyd in a Volvo 240. Chris hall and Rob Stevenson in a Subary RX were a further 3 1/2 minutes back in third place.
