1997 Grampians Spring Tour

The Grampians Tour, organised by the HRA, was held on 6-7 September. It started in Bacchus Marsh, had an overnight stop in Hamilton and finished at Ararat.

As a touring event, the results were principally determined by finding and following the correct route although there were some short timed motorkhana and sprint tests off public roads.

The winners were Hugh Palmer and Henry Draper in a Morris Mini Cooper S on 1115.5 points. Equal second were Rob Dyer and Dave Smith in Peugeot and Russell Thorpe and Steven Oake in a Volvo 142S on 1099.0 points. Then followed Greg Gibson/Stephen Mitchell, Graham Wallis/Peter DeVaus and Kim Harper/Nick Wright.
