1999 Anglia Memorial Sprint Rally

The Anglia Memorial, organised by the Ford Four Car Club, was held on 4 December. The event was presumably called a “sprint rally” because it had relatively short, fully route charted stages, an uncommon format in club rallies in 1999. The “Anglia Memorial” name is presumably a humorous recognition of the curiously shaped but much loved (by some) former Ford model, the Anglia.

The event was held in the Mt Disappointment State Forest, north of Melbourne.

The winners were Paul Lahiff and Doug Fernie in a Mitsubishi Galant VR4. Second were Graeme and Jessica Wise in a Datsun 200B SX with Mark and Scott Pedder third in a Mitsubishi Lancer RS Evo 1.
