2000 Silverstone Tyres North Eastern Rally

The Silverstone Tyres North Eastern Rally, organised by the North Eastern Car Club, was held on October 21.

Round 4 Victorian Rally Championship

With the cancellation of the Djerriwarrh Rally, it was looking challenging for Scott Pedder and Paul Humm to catch championship leaders Brett Thomson and Rob Vanderee. The former pair had only 32 points to the latter’s 44.

Pedder and Humm took a decisive win in their Lancer on the North Eastern, beating Thomson and Vanderee by more than 2 minutes. But the championship would still go down to the wire at the final round.

In the hunt for the 2WD Championship, Darren Crozier was looking strong in the Gemini, well clear on points ahead of Murray Rogers in the Toyota Sprinter. But Rogers and co-drover Ross Green took a great tenth outright and win in the 2WD category while Crozier failed to score, so setting up a showdown at the final round.
